Duck

Ducks in the Park

I have never seen so many ducks in one place and they didnt seem to mind my company, but someone nearby was feeding them which should be a NoNo.
While there, all the ducks took to the air. But look closely at the picture, there is an eagle flying above the ducks looking for a snack. The eagle left and the ducks returned for more pictures.

Ironman Canada

Penticton Ironman Race
The Ironman is well named. This is the bicycle portion of the triathlon of 112 miles and passes through Oliver on its torturous route.
This picture shows a billboard for Pentax cameras, the reason for that is....... My cameras are Pentax. I Have a Pentax K10D and a Pentax K100D, both cameras have been superceded by the manufacturer with newer models.

Cattle Trucks
The rancher blocks the road with his cattle trucks, the rancher does not like us, he thinks the mountain is for his cows, he leases the land from the government, this land is in a provincial park and posibly a national park, he is worried he may lose his grazing rights and takes it out on us.

The Mount Kobau Star party is the only group allowed to camp on the mountain and is a dayuse only area

View to the south, Sage grows here in abundance

Highway Project

Highway 97, 4 laneing project

I have uploaded a number of images showing some of the work to widen the highway between Summerland and Peachland. this section of highway has been a problem for many years but this is a big job with a lot of rock to be removed.

In this picture, we are held up by this rock face, look at the drill marks in the rock where this section of road was widened just before the last election. Ooops, didnt mean to be political.

Here we are held up with the construction, just to the side of the red car is a steep drop to the lake

Click on the last picture to see the traffic held up
